Remember that you will get what you pay for, and using someone inexperienced who charges by the hour may seem cheap at first but ultimately cost you more because of constant revisions, or result in rubbish copy.

If you hired me for your copywriting project, I’d calculate the overall cost, priced at £50 per hour or a day rate of £350, and if I go over my estimated amount of time, you won’t be charged a penny more.

For example, if I gave you an invoice for two days of copywriting, you wouldn’t pay more than £700+ VAT. If I said the project will only take four hours, you wouldn’t pay more than £200+VAT.

I also record my hours, which helps me to provide more accurate estimates. By estimating the project cost and giving you a clear invoice, with no nasty surprises, I can be sure you’re happy with my work. If you were worried about increasing project costs, there’s a chance you may sign off on something you’re not 100% happy with, and that’s not good for either of us.
